What can you do to be more productive?

Are you feeling like you have too much on your plate these days?

This is a common feeling for leaders.
So today I have some advice for you.

You need to let go!

In my experience, 9 out of 10 leaders hold on to work they should not be doing.

Why?

Well, sometimes it’s work that you enjoy doing.
Sometimes, you are unwilling to invest the time to delegate the task.
Other times, it’s work that you are good at.

Now, let me remind you that just because you are good at something does not necessarily mean that you should be doing it.

For example, think about those administrative tasks that take 30 minutes a week. If you stopped doing those tasks, you’d have 2 hours a month to focus on more strategic tasks.

When your job changes, when your role expands, when you take on new responsibilities, you must let go of old tasks that no longer align with your current role.

I’m not saying that letting go will be easy.
I am saying that you have to do it anyway!!

So, what task are you holding onto that you KNOW you need to let go of immediately?

Please make it a priority to delegate that task this week.

Just think of all the other more important ways to spend your time.
I’m sure you can find a thing or two to do instead!
