Why I am NOT wishing you a happy new year!

As 2019 approached, my email was inundated with messages saying “happy new year”. To be honest, I think this popular expression needs a re-brand. After all, let’s be realistic. We can’t be happy for an entire year!!

Life is full of ups and down. Sure, we will have moments of happiness and extreme joy this year. We will also have moments of worry, sadness, stress and concern.

So, I don’t measure the success of my year based on how much happiness I acquired. Rather, I have personally rebranded the standard new-year phrase to “Wishing you a fulfilling new year”.

So on that note, I’d like to wish YOU a fulfilling new year! To help you out on that front, I’ve included some great coaching so that questions below so you can start thinking about what’s most important to you.

Here are my top 3 coaching questions to help you create a fulfilling year:

  • What worked well for you last year that you’d like to continue doing?
  • What didn’t work well for you last year that you’d like to change?
  • What needs to happen to make you feel more fulfilled this year?

Take some time to think about the above questions. Then, consider three things you’d like to focus on to make your year personally fulfilling.

To quote, Oprah, “What you focus on expands.” So, set your goals. Then take baby steps daily or weekly to focus on achieving them.
