How to Recognize Great Leadership in a Simple Way

Has anyone told you lately that you are awesome?

a woman in a business meeting clapping her hands

Likely not!

This needs to change.

People need more positive feedback these days.

Let me give you some context to explain this message that I’m sharing today.

I was at an event this week where the warm-up activity was simple but powerful.

I had to tell a partner about a leader that I admire and why I admire them.

I immediately thought of one of my clients.

She is the President of a manufacturing company with an estimated revenue of $210 million.

This is not a small business, and yet, despite the enormous responsibility on her shoulders, she leads with incredible dedication and heart.

She’s a committed mom, juggling her personal and professional life with grace.

As part of a massive change initiative, she’s dedicating time each week to working in different departments across the organization. That’s a real commitment!

It’s also a great example of a leader who is staying connected to her people in order to understand the business at every level.

This is a leader who doesn’t just demand excellence, but she inspires it.

After the exercise, I decided to text her. I told her I had chosen her as the leader I admire. Her response? Well, she was humbled and grateful to hear it.

That moment reminded me of something important: leadership is hard.

Many leaders go through their days making tough decisions, guiding their teams and shouldering enormous responsibility. They do this all without much positive feedback.

Too often, no one tells them they’re doing a great job.

So, I have a challenge for you.

Today, take a moment to text or email a leader that you admire. Tell them why.

It could be your boss, a mentor, a colleague, or even a friend.

Let them know that their leadership matters.

A few words of encouragement can go a long way.

Let’s work together to put more positive energy into the world.

This is one great way to start!

Email me at vanessa@mosaicpd.com and share with me who you selected and how they responded to your message!

Don’t hesitate. Send the message now!

Let’s create some positive change together.
